Dodge City Commissioners’ unanimously approved the 2021 Street Program at the March 2 Commissioners’ meeting.
Partial funding of these projects will come from the City’s Special Streets Fund, while the remaining $4,698,375 worth of funds needed to complete the present program will come from General Obligation Bonds (GOB).
The Finance Director and other staff will work together to determine the repayment amount of the GOB projects.
Each individual project listed in the program will come before the Commission for approval before any construction or design commences.
Both the Dodge City Fire Department and Dodge City Police Department had the honor of inducting a member each to their service.
Fire Chief Ken Spencer swore in Lance Edmundson.
“I keep getting great reports from the captains and the other firefighters for his training, he’s been doing great and I think he’s going to be an awesome addition to the department,” said Chief Spencer.
Police Chief Drew Francis swore in Officer Nicholas Murray.
Commissioners approved 5-0, the quote for Building Solutions LLC to begin construction of the Street Improvements for the Casa Del Rio Sub-Division Phase 1 project in the amount of $455,894.50.
The original estimate for the project was $523,985.00.
The street portion of the development will bring the infrastructure improvement total to $784,388.50.
The City has been working with the developer of the Casa Del Rio Sub-Division Phase 1 project to develop the infrastructure plans for water, sewer, and streets to service the new 23-unit single family residential development.
The goal is to meet the growing high demand of residential housing in the community.
The project is also part of the RHID Program.
