Let’s get down to monkey business. Smoky Hills PBS is excited to announce that Curious George is coming to the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kans. on September 4th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This is a free Family Fun Day event.

The Family Fun Day event gives kids a chance to see Curious George in person and the first 500 kids in attendance will receive a free bag of gifts.

“We are thrilled to bring back our Family Fun Day events, and what better way to do that than with Curious George at the zoo,” said Haley Gagnon, event coordinator for Smoky Hills PBS.  “It’s so great to be back in the communities we serve and it’s another great thing we do for our viewers in Central and Western Kansas.”

Family Fun Day is an educational and entertaining event that Smoky Hills PBS puts on approximately four times a year across Central and Western Kansas.  Smoky Hills PBS brings a special PBS character to visit and free books and educational gifts are distributed to those children in attendance.

Visit for up-to-date information as they have stated they will follow any county health ordinances at the time of this event.

Garden City sponsors that have made this event possible are: Valley State Bank, Garden City Community College, Garden City Optometrists, McDonald’s of Garden City, Ward’s Garden Center, Burtis Motor Company, Tortilleria Los Potrillos, United Wireless, and Palace Computer Center.
