Discovery of Young Dead Body Leads to Homicide Investigation

Dodge City Police Department have engaged in an ongoing homicide investigation after discovering the body of an 18-year-old Dodge City man, on March 21.


At approximately 8:26 PM, Dodge City Police were dispatched to a residence for a report of an individual knowing about a deceased body.


With the information from the report, officers responded to the 1200 block of West Elm St., where they located the deceased body of the then unknown male.


Original investigation showed that he appeared to be in his twenties.


After processing the scene, the body was turned over to the Ford County Coroner for further examination.


The body was confirmed to be 18-year-old Zacarias Giannino.


His next of kin was informed of his death.


The condition of Giannino’s body indicated that he had been deceased for a few weeks.


“On March 23, an autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death, which will not be released at this time,” said DCPD in a press release on their Facebook page.
