Garden City Streetscape and Reconstruction Project in Progress

Judd Weil April 2, 2021

Garden City announced that the street closures for the 8th Street Streetscape and Reconstruction Project has begun.

Initial daytime closures will only be at the two locations shown for tree removals and preliminary utility work.

This project is the fruition of a long term goal of the community to enhance this corridor.

While this first closure is temporary, long-term closures will be experienced in the coming weeks and months, beginning with Phase 1 from St. John to Stevens, followed by Phase 2 from Elm to Walnut/Buffalo Jones.

Updates will be provided accordingly.

Through public meetings and direct coordination, the City has been working with local businesses, residents, and the community to accommodate their needs during construction.

Once the street is closed, access to businesses will be maintained as shown in the attached exhibits.
