City of Dodge announced the Gary Ave. and US Hwy 50 intersection widening project begins on April 2, with phase one traffic control and temporary striping.
During the project, traffic lanes will be shifted south and narrowed, with the speed limit lowered to 30 miles per hour from Central Ave. to 6th Ave.
Due to conflicting schedules with the different subcontractors, construction activities will begin on April 5.
Access onto the north leg of Gary Ave. from US 50 will be closed as well as the intersection of Gary Ave. and Frontview St. during phase one.
This joint project is expected to be complete in mid-July, weather permitting, and is in conjunction between the City and Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) through the City Connecting Link Improvement Program (CCLIP).
As construction proceeds through additional phases, announcements will be made to prepare drivers for traffic control changes.
Watch out for construction workers and equipment in construction zones, and if possible, use other routes
