Hugoton Man Arrested in Joint Law Enforcement Effort

A joint effort between the Hugoton Police Department, Liberal Police Department K-9 Unit, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) led to the arrest of Arturo Hernandez, 24, Hugoton, Kan. on Aug. 22.

 

A search warrant was executed at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, by the combined law agencies at 110 W. 6th Street in Hugoton, Kan.

 

Cash and drug paraphernalia were seized during the search.

 

Hernandez was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Interference with Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and Criminal Threat.

 

He was transported to the Stevens County Jail, where he is being held on a $15,000 bond.

 

An affidavit was forwarded to the county attorney for formal charges.
