A 53-year-old Montezuma, Kan. man was killed in a highway crash with a semi-truck on U.S. 54 and Road 26 in Meade County, the night of Sept. 22.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at around 10 p.m., a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500, driven by Neil Peters-Krahn, was northbound on Road 26 when it failed to yield to a westbound semi on U.S. 54.

The 2018 Freightliner semi driven by Victor Manuel Campos-Ramirez, 59, of Los Angeles, California, hit Peters-Krahn’s vehicle.

The KHP said Neil Peters-Krahn was killed in the crash.

EMS transported both men to Meade County Hospital, where Peters-Krahn died.

The KHP crashlog reflects that Peters-Krahn was not wearing a seatbelt.

Campos-Ramirez, who was wearing a seatbelt, had suspected minor injuries.
