Gibson’s Pharmacy in Dodge City, Kan. were briefly closed the morning of Aug. 24, after discovering to their shattered surprised, their shattered drive-through window was used as an entry point to a burglary.
Dodge City Police Department officers were dispatched and directed to the broken drive-through window. DCPD surmised the burglary occurred just after midnight.
“Video surveillance was obtained and reviewed, showing an unknown black male enter the pharmacy,” said DCPD in a press release.
The suspect took a large quantity of different controlled substances and left in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“We believe the suspect had assistance from a “getaway driver,”” said DCPD.
Gibson’s Pharmacy stated on their Facebook page they are now open and operating at full capacity.
“Nobody was present at the store at the time, and thankfully nobody was harmed,” said Gibson’s Pharmacy. “We are working closely with local authorities and are hopeful that the intruder will be apprehended quickly.”
The feedback from customers of Gibson’s Pharmacy, located at 2401 Central Ave, a 40-year staple to Dodge City was resounding. Many local people have voiced their concern and outrage over the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and DCPD detectives continue to follow up on leads.
