Stolen Vehicle Case Leads to Two Arrests in Garden City; Drugs and Firearm Paraphernalia Seized

Two people were arrested in Garden City, Kan. on Sept. 30, one on drug and firearm charges, the other on theft charges.


Garden City Police Department took a report on Sept. 29 for a stolen Ford Bronco from Hertz Rent-a-Car located at 1719 E. Fulton Street.


The same day, GCPD was notified by the Wichita Police Department they recovered the Ford Bronco in the parking lot of a Wichita hotel.


WPD also communicated a second person, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, picked up the driver of the stolen vehicle and drove back to Garden City, Kan.


GCPD officers located the Jeep in the 200 block of S. Third Street, still occupied by Kristen Collazo, 30, Garden City, Kan., and Noe Aaron Godinez-Viurquez, 27, Garden City, Kan.


Both Collazo and Godinez-Viurquez attempted to leave the scene but were taken into custody.


Further investigation with a search of the Jeep resulted in the seizure of 1.3 pounds of methamphetamine, over 200 pills, a firearm, and ammunition.


Collazo was lodged in the Finney County Jail and could face the following charges:

  • Possession of a Stimulant with Intent to Distribute
  • Interference LEO (F)
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Assault LEO


Godinez-Viurquez was lodged in the Finney County Jail with the charge of Theft (F).
