A Sublette man was taken to Newman Regional Hospital for injuries after an accident on the Kansas Turnpike in Lyon County at approximately 2:33 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

According to the KHP crash log, the accident occurred when 76-year-old Robert Lee Moore entered the Turnpike from an entrance ramp and cut across all lanes of traffic to make an illegal U-turn with his 2018 Kia Stinger.

Upon doing so he struck a 2018 Lexus GX4 driven by 51-year-old Staci Stroud of Flower Mound, Texas.

Moore was taken to Newman Regional Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, while Stroud suffered no injury.

Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles.
