Two Garden City Men Drove Themselves to Hospital After Being Shot

Finney County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to St. Catherine’s Hospital on May 22, after two men drove themselves to the facility after receiving individual gunshot wounds from a yet-unknown party.

 

Approximately 10:45 p.m., deputies were dispatched to St. Catherine’s Hospital, where they met with 21 year-old Ricky DeLeon and 24 year-old David Acevedo, both of Garden City.

 

Both subjects were being treated when deputies arrived and the wounds were considered not life-threatening.

 

The victims stated they had gone to a Finney county residence, west of Garden City limits.

 

DeLeon had gone into the residence for a period of time, then left and rejoined Acevedo in his vehicle.

 

The two left the residence but after driving a short distance from it, they stopped and got out to move some items inside the vehicle.

 

It was during then they were shot at.

 

DeLeon and Avecedo then drove to St. Catherine’s Hospital with their injuries.

 

“No suspects have been identified at this time and the matter is under investigation,” said the Finney County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
