Western Plains Medical Complex (WPMC) in Dodge City, Kan. recently welcomed Ernestor De La Rosa as a new Board member.
De La Rosa replaces Ryan Ausmus, who served as vice-chairman since 2014.
“Western Plains Medical Complex sincerely thanks Mr. Ausmus for his service, leadership and his dedication to the mission of Western Plains Medical Complex,” said WPMC in a press release.
“Mr. De La Rosa has represented so many organizations in so many different settings and has dedicated his career to ensure that our community continues to grow socially and economically,” said Rick Sowers, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “I know he’ll be a wonderful colleague to work with, and an excellent addition to the Board.”
Currently, De La Rosa serves as the Assistant City Manager of the City of Dodge City.
Being a rural leader in Dodge City, De La Rosa wears many hats to serve his community.
As the Assistant City Manager, he oversees the City’s Public Transportation and Human Resources Departments and serves as the City’s Legislative Affairs Director. He also coordinates the efforts of the Southwest Kansas Coalition and facilitates the Complete Count Committee for the Census 2020 efforts in Dodge City and Ford County.
Governor Laura Kelly appointed Mr. De La Rosa to serve on the Kansas Hispanic Latino American Affairs Commission and the Kansas Racial Equity and Justice Commission, representing the City of Dodge City.
De La Rosa was born and raised in Mexico, immigrated to the United States at age 13, and is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.
